The Les Garrigues choir is resuming rehearsals.

After a well-deserved summer break following the visit of the Gimpl Choir from Croatia in June and a trip to Andorra in July that included a concert at the Sant Pere Màrtir Church in Escaldes-Engordany, a hike to the Tristaina Lakes, visits to La Seu d’Urgell and the Parliament of Andorra, a Cirque du Soleil show... and, of course, some shopping in the streets of Andorra la Vella, the Garrigues choir members will resume rehearsals on Friday, September 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the community center in Saint Bauzille de Montmel.

A new season that promises to be full of projects: the release of a new CD is planned for the fall, the traditional Christmas concerts, and, of course, collaborations with other ensembles in the region—including a planned collaboration with the Cévennes orchestra and choir. Finally, in July 2019, we will travel to Assisi, Italy, to meet the “Cantori di Assisi” choir.

The choir is open to everyone, whether you’re a beginner or a singer with prior choral experience. In addition to rehearsals led by Guy Bonnet and Thierry Raux, sessions on vocal technique and an introduction to musical language will be offered. You’ll have the opportunity to fully express yourself by performing a wide-ranging repertoire, including classical, contemporary, and French and international folk works—many of which are original pieces brought back from our numerous exchanges with ensembles abroad. You’ll also get a taste of polyphonic singing with mixed voices of men and women.

Feel free to come meet us at the community organizations fair, which will be held on Saturday, September 1, at the Domaine de Saint Bauzille in Montmel, or during our Friday rehearsals at the community center.
