An Unusual Start to the New Season at the Les Garrigues Choir

Admittedly, like any organization, the Les Garrigues Choir had resumed its activities last September. Of course, everything came to a halt in mid-October with the implementation of the second lockdown, accompanied by a curfew. This led to a six-month hiatus… A first outdoor gathering took place recently with two groups of six choir members. This provided an opportunity to test the singing masks purchased and distributed free of charge by the choir, and the choir members present, delighted to be reunited, presented Micheline, their senior member, with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her birthday. Thanks to the easing of public health measures, rehearsals will resume on Friday, May 21, in the gardens of the Domaine from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Social distancing and wearing masks upon arrival remain in effect. Starting June 4, with the curfew pushed back to 11:00 p.m., we’ll return to our usual rehearsal times from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Given the circumstances, this resumption will feel like a true new beginning. Are you interested in singing in a choir? Whether you’re a beginner or have solid experience… Don’t hesitate any longer! Come share the joys of choral singing through a wide-ranging repertoire: classical works, traditional songs from France and beyond, religious and secular music, in mixed or same-voice ensembles. Very soon, you’ll be taking part in the concerts the choir regularly performs in the region, and next year, in a friendly atmosphere, you’ll have the chance to meet other European choirs during our traditional trip—which has already taken us to Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, Switzerland, and Belgium in early July…For more information: Didier Coque (President) 04 67 55 11 49; Guy Bonnet (Choir Director) 04 67 86 13 04
